Post type: Full-time, Fixed-term up to 3 years

This post will provide teaching to international students on the International Foundation Programme (IFP). The IFP is designed to provide international students with an A-level equivalent foundation of Biology and other sciences to enable students to progress to our undergraduate programmes. As a consequence, experience with teaching at secondary school level is essential as another key aspect of the role will be in developing strategies to help students in the transition from school to university. The development and implementation of best pedagogical practice will also be an important aspect of this role in order to improve the transition from school to university, to improve the student experience and to improve student satisfaction.

You will have:

  • PhD in a biological science
  • A teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, PGCAP etc)
  • Experience teaching international students
  • Experience teaching biology to secondary school students
  • Knowledge of pedagogic issues in teaching and learning in the Higher Education sector and in the secondary school sector
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
