The Strategic Planning Officer is responsible for a variety of important initiatives and activities spanning a number of different areas of the College. The main focus of the post is producing accurate data, analysis and information and preparing astute and informative written documents and presentations which appropriately represent the College and its strategic aims, in particular, in relation to HEFCE Funding, HESA Data Returns, League Tables and National Student Survey (NSS).

The successful candidate will be highly numerate, with a structured and methodical approach to problem solving and analysis. They will have experience in analysing complex datasets and in summarising the emerging themes succinctly. Clear written and oral communication skills with demonstration of diplomacy will be key in this role. The ideal candidate will have strong organisation skills and an ability to horizon scan. Demonstrated knowledge of, and an interest in, the higher education sector and the key issues it faces will be equally important.

Appointments will usually be made at the bottom of the scale. This position is full-time and open-ended.
