An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse (experience within learning disabilities desirable) who has recent clinical nursing experience which includes the mentorship of students and student practice learning issues to join the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that students that are placed in the Midlands and East of England catchment area receive a quality learning experience. The role entails working with De Montfort University students to ensure they meet their clinical and professional outcomes for their BSc Nursing programme. A number of students have all their clinical placements within Midlands and East of England and their theoretical components at De Montfort University.
You will act as a focal point for both students and placement areas ensuring that students receive a high standard of learning. You will work with clinical staff and mentors supporting placement areas and resolving any issues locally. You will work closely with personal tutors and programme leaders from De Montfort University and a variety of Practice Learning Leads within Midlands and East of England. Opportunities will be available for gaining teaching or higher qualifications. As part of the team you may also be involved in research, external income generation and international activities. Experience of delivering healthcare education in an inter-professional context is desirable.
The applicant will need to possess a degree and current NMC nurse registration. Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development is also essential including completion of a sign off mentorship module and an appropriate teaching qualification is desirable.
