You will hold, or be in the final stage of a PhD in a relevant field and have evidence of high quality research, preferably with publications suitable for submission to the next REF exercise. With an emerging or proven track record in research and publication (or the ability to provide convincing evidence of the potential to do so) you will be able to contribute to the growing research profile of the Department and to future assessments of research excellence.
With excellent communication skills and previous teaching experience at undergraduate level you will demonstrate a positive attitude to the teaching and research goals of the Department.
To be successful you will have relevant teaching and research experience in sports coaching and development, or in related fields such as sport policy, the sociology of sport, health and wellbeing, and sports pedagogy.
About the Role
A specialist is sought to join a dynamic and research active teaching team who deliver BA (Hons) programmes in Sports Development, Management and Coaching, and the MSc Sport, Physical Activity and Mental Health and MSci Sports Coaching and Development programmes. You will contribute to all aspects of teaching including the delivery of lectures, seminars, tutorials, and online interaction, and the facilitation of student work in a range of different media.
You will supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and act as a personal tutor for students across all years. The successful applicant will also be expected to develop and maintain their own research programme as part of one of the Department’s themed research groups.
