We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to work on an 18 month Wellcome Trust funded project within the Division of Imaging Sciences and Medical Engineering

This postdoctoral position is funded by a Wellcome Trust Seed Award. The project aims to develop new chemical platforms for tracking cells in vivo using Positron Emission Tomography. The successful candidate will lead the synthesis and biological characterisation of new compounds that combine novel chelators for complexing radioactive metals, and peptides/proteins that accumulate efficiently and stably in cells. The experimental work spans synthetic/inorganic chemistry, radiochemistry, in vitro cell studies and in vivo PET imaging.

Candidates with a PhD in synthetic chemistry, biological chemistry, medicinal chemistry, inorganic chemistry, radiopharmacy, molecular biology or preclinical molecular imaging agent development will be considered.  Independence, initiative and problem solving abilities are prime requirements for this role, as is the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively. In return, the candidate will benefit from working in a dynamic highly interdisciplinary environment with state-of-the art imaging facilities.
