The Ceramics Research Centre, which is part of CREAM, the UK leading practice-based Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media, has pioneered inquiries on contemporary ceramic practice in the expanded field of making, curating and critical discourse.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role are to work alongside the Leader of the Ceramics Research Centre, Clare Twomey, in the development and delivery of research initiatives and projects, related research and administrative efforts. The role will involve individual research, joint research with the research centres in CREAM and the Ceramics Research Centre. This will include liaising with external public organisations and funding applications for national and international research.
The post holder will possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline evidenced by a relevant degree. They will have applicable knowledge and experience of research methods and techniques to work within their own area of practice-led inquiry. The position requires the ability to work as part of a team, effective communication skills and a high degree of being organised and proactive.
