Newcastle University Estate Support Service is looking to appoint a highly experienced construction professional to support the Capital Development Team in the role of CDM and Soft Landings Manager.

You will undertake the duties of Principal Designer on all major capital building projects and will develop, implement and manage the University’s Soft Landings strategy and processes on major capital building projects and support the roll out of Soft Landings throughout the service. The number and value of projects will vary some in excess of £50 million.

The post holder is expected hold a relevant degree or to have gained an appropriate professional qualification such as RICS, RIBA, and MCIOB. You should have up to date knowledge of statutory requirements, legislation & contract law relating to building projects and ideally hold a Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH.

You must have excellent IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and AutoCAD and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You must demonstrable evidence of being able to influence people and have up to date and demonstrable organisational skills. Ideally you will also have experience of the higher education sector.

Excellent negotiation skills and a proactive style of management are essential.
