An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the ICT Service at Southampton Solent University (SSU) as an Information Systems Analyst. SSU has strong local roots within Southampton and its region, working closely with the city, the community, employers and voluntary organisations.

As an Information Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for the implementation, support, maintenance and integration of our business systems such as the HR, Payroll, Finance, Student Record and Timetabling systems. The business systems are predominantly vendor supplied Oracle or SQL server based web-enabled solutions sitting alongside some internally developed systems.

Essential Requirements:

  • Excellent SQL writing skills.
  • Experience of working with either Oracle or SQL Server databases.
  • A logical approach to problem solving.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of supporting business systems.
  • Experience of integrating systems using SOA or web services.

We’re looking for someone with good communication skills who is as comfortable liaising with users as they are with technical colleagues. Someone who is organised and meticulous in their work with a desire to push themselves and develop their skills with us.
