The appointment will be on UCL Grade 8. The salary range will be £42,304 to £49,904 per annum , inclusive of London Allowance.
The UCL Institute of Education (IOE) is a world leading centre for education and social research and teacher development, located in the heart of London. The secondary ITE programme has been consistently rated outstanding by OFSTED. The Geography ITE cohort is the largest in England and offers a fantastic working environment.
The post holder will play a fundamental role in shaping the Geography teacher education by teaching and supporting student teachers primarily on 'Teach First' although there is the possibility of contributing to other ITE programmes. The post is available immediately and funded in the first instance to 31 August 2017.
You will have proven experience of teaching within secondary schools and experience of mentoring student teachers, newly qualified teachers and/or other education professionals and, ideally already have experience within an ITE. Awareness of current developments in the filed of initial teacher education such as School Direct, the new national curriculum and other policy documents is an advantage.
