As Data Enquiries and Reporting Officer, you will work as part of Finance and Planning to support the University’s student number planning and data reporting processes. Using both your technical expertise and customer service skills, you will be responsible for the production and dissemination of internal management reports to support internal planning and decision making.
You will be responsible for the provision of data and information to a variety of internal and external customers. You will be the gatekeeper for internal consumers of the University’s student and staff data, facilitating a single workflow of requests through a busy and dynamic team. Working across a number of teams you will extract and present information in response to ad-hoc enquiries, signpost existing services, and refer to specialists, as appropriate.
You will interrogate a range of information systems to extract data using SQL Server and MS Access, and use a range of tools including MS Excel to analyse and present information.
Through an understanding of our customers’ needs, you will inform the development of on-demand reporting solutions to ensure we are able to meet the growing internal demands for data and information in a controlled and sustainable manner.
The ideal applicant will have experience of working with large and complex databases of quantitative informationand of practical data manipulation and analysis, as well as being able to organize a workload and balance competing demands.
