Arts University Bournemouth is the leading professional arts university dedicated to turning creativity into careers. Offering courses in art, design, media and performance, we are passionate about our specialist subjects and dedicated both to education and the creative industries which we serve.
With a history spanning over 50 years, Bournemouth Film School (BFS) sits at the heart of Arts University Bournemouth and brings together the disciplines of film production, animation and VFX.
The BA (Hons) Film Production and MA Film Production courses utilise a specialist award structure modelled on the contemporary film industry and contextualised by a philosophy of practical learning in an academic environment. The courses are developing important links with the new BA (Hons) VFX course, supported by the University’s on-campus relationship with Framestore, and have well established collaborations with courses in Costume, Make-up and Acting.
The Bournemouth Film School at AUB is looking for a film practitioner with skills and experience in Production Design to teach on our vibrant and established BA (Hons) Film Production and MA Film Production courses.
The successful applicant will have a track record in Production Design for film, both studio and location, and significant teaching experience. In particular, we are looking for someone who understands and can articulate the increasing importance of digital processes, such as VFX and pre-viz, while supporting the more traditional elements of technical drawing and modelling. You will also be a strong and effective communicator, sharing our passion for all aspects of film practice, production and education.
You will be an enthusiastic practitioner who is able to convey an in depth knowledge of film production to masters and degree level students. You will take responsibility for managing the effective learning of all production design students, including setting, supervising and assessing work, as well as contributing to the development of the course curriculum. The Film Subject area has significant plans for developing practice based research, and Arts University Bournemouth offers a range of support for research active staff.
