Kingston University has embarked on a period of intense activity to transform the teaching, learning and research environment. We are reviewing and improving structures and processes as well as investing millions in new IT and physical infrastructure.
As part of this transformation, the Marketing and Communications functions, previously devolved across the University, have been consolidated into one Directorate. We are now seeking an experienced Web Editor to help develop and improve our websites which acts as our main marketing, recruitment and communications tool, working with people and teams from across the organisation and enhancing the user experience. Key tasks will range from producing clear, accessible content and contributing to email marketing campaigns to auditing website sections to ensure relevance, accuracy and enforce the University branding policy.
You should be educated to degree level with previous experience of writing and editing engaging copy for the web in a marketing context. A strong grasp of content management systems, web authoring software and HTML, a good understanding of the web as a marketing and communications tool and an awareness of standards and usability will be essential. To this you’ll add excellent prioritising, relationship building and team working skills and a positive, proactive approach.
Our Marketing and Communications Directorate provides a strategic operational and advisory service to the University on all aspects of external promotion and internal publicity including UK and international marketing and student recruitment, market research, website management, social media, media relations, branding, copy writing, editing, design and print.
