The Principal Teaching Fellow (PTF) is the Education Lead for the UCL Cancer Institute and is responsible for delivering the educational and training remit for undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled within the UCL Cancer Institute. The PTF works collaboratively with senior colleagues to set educational strategy and to design, deliver and quality assure teaching and training programmes within the Institute. The PTF is also the Divisional Graduate Tutor for the UCL Cancer Institute and exercises general academic and pastoral oversight of postgraduate research students within the Institute. The PTF has responsibility for a small administrative team coordinating admissions, timetabling and running programmes, teaching committees, quality management and enhancement processes and student matters.
A higher education to PhD level qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent is essential. The successful applicant will have relevant prior experience in a Higher Education Institution, with a proven track record as a senior academic or a senior teaching manager within a higher education environment, involved with the pastoral support of students.
H/she will have a record of successful line management and development of staff with proven team leadership and motivational skills. Experience in using virtual learning environments, proven track record in coordinating programmes of study through-out the academic cycle and operating effective quality assurance processes is also essential.
