Manchester Metropolitan University continues to be one of the UK’s leading universities, in one of the UK’s most popular student cities.
This is an exciting high profile role within the University with the chance to lead a client-side project management team in the planning and delivery of a major capital programme, with a value in excess of £400m over the next decade. There is an opportunity for the right candidate to really influence and deliver the future of the University’s built estate. The Development team leads the development and delivery of small and mid-sized projects to major development in excess of £50m in value.
This role will support the Director of Estates deliver strategic planning leadership whilst developing and implementing the strategic management and co-ordination of major project activities across all campuses. Leading the Projects team, you will ensure that it provides high quality design and specification, value for money and a responsible service within agreed programmes and budgets. You will work closely in partnership with senior colleagues across Faculties and Professional Services to prioritise, communicate and deliver the Estates Strategy.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in project and programme leadership roles, with responsibility for planning and managing large development projects in environments with comparable characteristics to those found at the University. You will have strong strategic planning and development management skills, with demonstrable relevant experience of master planning, business case development, feasibility and option appraisal and brief development.
