We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious lecturer to strengthen our teaching and research in the area of cognitive and/or biological psychology. You should have a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology or related discipline (or be very near to completion), a strong record of publication in peer-reviewed journals (relative to stage of career).
You will be affiliated with The Applied Cognition and Cognitive Engineering Research Group (The AC2E Group) within the Centre for Applied Psychological and Health Research, and will be expected to make a significant contribution to our research agenda and to the mission of this group.
In addition to demonstrated capability to teach undergraduate cognitive and/or biological psychology along with an additional part of the GBC curriculum, you should be capable of attracting funding from external grant agencies, and contributing to the next REF at an international/world-class level.
Currently, psychology at Huddersfield has over thirty full-time staff (three professors and six readers) and is developing its research-focused postgraduate provision at both masters and Ph.D. levels. Our laboratories have been recently refurbished and include an interview suite, 216 channel EEG, SMI eye tracker, polygraph, facereader software plus biopacs and superlab for teaching purposes. The Division has consistently performed well in the psychology NSS and is one of the top Universities in the North of England for teaching.
