Programme Director in Education, Humanities and Social Sciences

Laureate Online Education, in partnership with The University of Roehampton, London

  • Are you passionate about student experience?
  • Could you lead a team of academics in the design, delivery and quality management of a portfolio of Master’s programmes?
  • Do you have experience or a strong interest in online education?
  • Would you like to join a respected, global organization working in partnership with an award winning UK University?

Laureate Online Education International has been working in partnership with UK Universities for 16 years, successfully delivering online programmes in psychology, education, management and health with the University of Roehampton for the last five. The University of Roehampton is ranked the best modern university in London with a beautiful parkland campus in the heart of South-West London and a growing reputation not only for its academic quality but also for the supportive, warm and friendly approach to education.

We are seeking to recruit a Programme Director to lead our online Master’s programmes delivered in partnership with Roehampton. The Programme Director will focus on the area of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences. The Programme Director will report to our Academic Director and will be the academic lead for the subject disciplines in their portfolio - acting as ‘Head of Subject’ and taking responsibility for the quality of the students’ learning experiences through the development and review of relevant quality and other processes. Successful candidates will also collaborate with colleagues within Laureate and within the University of Roehampton to ensure curricula are relevant and current, advising on new programmes and overseeing programmes through the validation process.

External Requirements
If you are an experienced academic with a genuine enthusiasm for innovation, a track record for developing and leading undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes (from development through to delivery, review and accreditation) and a commitment to delivering outstanding educational experiences, we would love to hear from you. Having a PhD or being close to completing a PhD in one of our programme areas is an essential requirement for this role. Our Programme Directors also have management responsibility for the online tutors working on their programmes and so line management experience of other academics is desirable but not essential - an interest in working with people and managing their performance, together with excellent and demonstrable relationship, communication and leadership skills is important. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates who also have professional experience and/or professional accreditations from relevant professional bodies.

Strong preference given to suitable candidates able to base themselves in the Laureate Amsterdam Office but home working will be considered if candidates can reach either the Laureate Amsterdam Office or the University of Roehampton campus easily. Applications for both full-time and part-time (contract) work will be considered.

The future for the Laureate-Roehampton partnership is bright. Our staff are energetic, enthusiastic and inspiring and our culture team oriented, innovative and flexible. If you would like to join our team please submit an application today!
