Fleet management role at ambitious University

Salary: Starting salary is normally in the range £25,769 to £28,143. With potential progression once in post to £31,656 a year.

The University of Birmingham is leading the way in green fleet management in the HE environment. With over 25% of the fleet now comprising of Fully Electric vehicles, it is one of the most sustainable in the country. The Post, Portering and Transport Services departments have won National Awards across the represented sectors and continue to drive forward the green agenda.

The department provide a complete logistics solution for the University and are committed to providing a first class experience when delivering these services across the campus. The combined departments manage the movement of students, staff, freight, furniture and mail for the University with a team of 24 staff. 

The PPT Service Operations Manager is responsible and will effectively manager operations and teams based across three locations on campus. The appointee requires excellent knowledge of vehicle fleet management, postal courier services and import and export legislation. The post-holder will need to be a good communicator with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the University community and key stakeholders.
