Human Resources Adviser

The Human Resources department at Oxford Brookes provides HR services to all areas of the University at all levels. We now have an opportunity to join our friendly and supportive Operations Team on a full-time permanent basis. Key to the role of a HR Adviser is to provide a professional, efficient and timely advisory and administrative service to University Faculties and Directorates whilst maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times.

You will be:

  • supporting a broad range of HR Team activities including the administration of recruitment and selection processes, issuing contracts of employment and maintaining and updating accurate records on the HR database

  • providing advice to resolve management and staff queries in line with University policies and

  • coordinating and administering all aspects of fixed term contracts and probation processes

  • providing monthly analysis of absence and other HR statistics as required

  • supporting the HR Partnering Team including servicing meetings and committees.

You should have:

  • a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or equivalent including Maths and English

  • CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in HR Practice or equivalent

  • relevant administrative experience including a considerable period spent engaged in HR work

  • the ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of people at all levels both internal and external to the organisation

  • the ability to meet competing deadlines and prioritise work accordingly.
