About Us
The School of Mathematical Science at Queen Mary University of London has an exceptionally strong research presence across the spectrum of areas within pure and applied mathematics, and is currently organised into seven research groups, namely: algebra, combinatorics, complex systems and networks, dynamical systems and statistical physics, geometry and analysis, probability and applications, and statistics and data analysis. The School also has large and popular undergraduate and graduate programmes.

About the role
We are looking to appoint a Post-Doctoral Research associate to work in the area of general relativity and AdS/CFT within the General Relativity Group, which is part of the Geometry and Analysis Research Group at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Queen Mary University of London. The group has strong links with the String Theory group at Queen Mary University of London and other research institutions in the area such as Imperial College London, King’s College London and Cambridge.

Duties include developing and conducting individual and collaborative research objectives, proposals and projects. The role holder will be expected to plan and manage their own research and administration, with guidance if required, and to assist in the preparation of proposals and applications to external bodies. The successful candidate must be able to communicate material of a technical nature and be able to build internal and external contacts. Optionally, the holder may want to consider the possibility of getting involved in some sort of teaching/supervision activities.
