The School of Geography, Geology and the Environment is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Physical Geography. Applications are welcomed from individuals committed to high quality research and teaching in the fields of Quaternary Science and Remote Sensing, and who have interests that complement our research strengths in these areas, while broadening the scope of our teaching expertise.
The post-holder will be expected to possess an excellent track record of innovative research, and will have the potential to develop and/or maintain internationally competitive research, underpinned by publications and grant success, that complements our existing research strengths in the area of Quaternary Science and Remote Sensing. However, other areas of research expertise in physical geography which are compatible with the research strengths of the School, for example, in energy and the environment, will also be considered.
You will be expected to contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate programmes in Geography and Physical Geography. You will have a higher degree in a relevant area of Physical Geography, and will be able to demonstrate an ability to teach effectively and innovatively across a broad range of topics in geography, by enthusing and engaging students in order to deliver an excellent learning experience. The post-holder will also contribute to the geography field course programme.
The successful candidate will join the growing and highly successful School of Geography, Geology and the Environment, which has a thriving, expanding Geography section that has a strong commitment to, and nationally leading reputation in, delivering high quality research and educational programmes in geography.
