Assistant Professor in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies

The Department of Education at the American University of Beirut invites applications for the position of assistant professor in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies effective August 15, 2017. 

Successful candidates are expected to teach and advise diploma and graduate students in educational leadership and policy studies; conduct and publish independent research; direct graduate students’ research; participate in program review and improvement; supervise internships and practica, develop proposals for extramural funding; participate in outreach educational activities, and take an active role in collaborations with schools and academic life in the department, college, and university. 

Applicants must have earned a doctorate from an internationally accredited institution in educational leadership and policy studies or in a closely- related field at the time of appointment. Demonstrated experience as an educational leader preferably in a K-12 schools and teaching experience at the college level are assets. 

The appointments are for an initial period of four years with opportunities for renewal and advancement. The usual teaching load is not more than 5 courses a year. The language of instruction is English. Persons with ties to Lebanon or to the region or a specific interest in opportunities to work in the region are especially encouraged to apply.
