Salary: £30,738 p.a. (plus annual academic allowance of £1,301 p.a.)
Applications are invited to the post of Outreach and Career Development Fellow, tenable for a fixed period of four years from 1 February 2017, or as soon as possible thereafter. It is based in Keble College, Oxford. The fellowship is open to those researching in any subject offered at undergraduate level at the college, and is intended for candidates who are at an early stage of their academic career. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate an ability to plan and undertake academic research at the highest level, show excellent communication skills suitable to diverse audiences, and a commitment to the fair access aims of the college and University. Eligible candidates must have, or be close to completion of, a doctorate in their field of research.
This is a newly created post, supported by donor funding. It is intended to further embed access and outreach work in the fellowship and also to assist a scholar in the early period of postdoctoral research. The duties of the post will be equally divided between these two aims. The post will involve travel to schools, particularly in our target area of Birmingham and the West Midlands.
The starting salary will be £30,738 p.a.; it will be pensionable. In addition there is an academic allowance of £1,301 p.a., free lunch and dinner at the common table when the college kitchens are open, and office space in college.
