We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in the Division of Community and Criminal Justice on a permanent 0.8 FTE basis. The Division is based in the School of Applied Social Sciences in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences and is home to 23 academic staff. We offer a number of undergraduate programmes in Criminology, Policing and Community Justice.
You will contribute to the teaching of students on the undergraduate criminology programmes. Teaching duties will include preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars, supervision of final year projects, contributing to the personal tutoring scheme, and setting and marking of assessments. We are looking for applicants who complement the teaching/research interests of staff in the division. You will be expected to be research active in Criminology.
You will have a postgraduate qualification in Criminology or a cognate discipline, experience of teaching and assessing in the higher education sector, an understanding of the quality assurance mechanisms that operate in the sector, and evidence of the potential to contribute to the research profile of the Division. You will have excellent teaching and organisational skills and be able to communicate effectively with all members of the University community.
