The salary range will be Grade 6B £29,809 - £31,432 per annum; Grade 7 £34,056 - £41,163 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
Applications are invited for a Research Assistant/Associate position in human cellular immunology funded by an MRC Clinician Scientist Award to Dr Dimitra Peppa, in the Division of Infection and Immunity at UCL The successful candidate will join a dynamic group of basic and clinical scientist all working on integrated aspects of the immunopathogenesis of HIV infection, with a number of leading national and international collaborators. A close link with Professor Borrow's group at the University of Oxford will require commuting between UCL and Oxford University. The post is available for 22 months in the first instance.
Applicants must have an MSc (or equivalent degree) and/or a PhD (or equivalent degree) or about to be awarded in a relevant subject.Candidates must have significant experience of research in human cellular immunology and a good level of competency at cell culture and multiparameter flow cytometry. Good knowledge of NK cell biology and proven track record of publishing papers in peer reviewed journals is also desirable. Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent on having been awarded a PhD. If this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary £29,809 - £31,432 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
