Salary: £29,301 to £38,183 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

A position is advertised for a self-motivated and ambitious post-doctoral researcher (PDRA) to work on a multi-disciplinary project funded by Prostate Cancer UK. You will join a successful human prostate cancer research consortium involving researchers at the University of Nottingham and involving collaborations with colleagues in the United States and Sweden. You will use genome editing and next generation sequencing with established molecular biology and pharmacology approaches to advance understanding of androgen signalling in human prostate cancer. Our goal is to develop new ways to bypass resistance to existing prostate cancer treatments in advanced disease. The post will be based primarily at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Sciences, but will also involve collaboration with colleagues in the School of Pharmacy and City University Hospital, Nottingham.

The successful candidate will be nearing completion or will have completed a PhD with a research background in gene regulation, cancer and molecular cell biology. You will need to demonstrate the ability to deliver high quality research, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Experience in CRISPR-cas9 methods is desirable but not essential.

As a School we pride ourselves on the collegial and supportive culture created by our staff. We are dedicated to creating an environment which enables both our staff to thrive and achieve their potential.
