The Faculty of Humanities is pleased to invite applications for Doctoral Studentships for 2017-18 entry from outstanding candidates planning to conduct rigorous, creative and original research on challenging and significant problems.

Over 140 fully-funded awards will be made across the whole range of arts, humanities and social sciences  subjects. Successful candidates will have access to world-class methods training and a comprehensive programme of Researcher Development to support you in becoming intellectual leaders within academia and beyond.

Subject to satisfactory progress, these awards will cover:

  • Tuition fees 
  • Annual maintenance grant of at least £14,296 (2016/17 rate)

Awards are open to both home and international students.
