Applicants are invited for the position of Light Microscopy Technician within the Image Resource Facility at St George’s, University of London. The successful applicant will be part of an established team responsible for providing technical services and supporting the University’s teaching and research activity.
Primary responsibility of this role is the provision of microscopy services and technical support within a core imaging facility. The role will also include assisting within at least one of two other main sections of the facility; histology sample preparation (including IHC & ICC) and electron microscopy.
A bachelor degree in a biological science or biomedical engineering and relevant previous experience in a laboratory environment is essential. Applicants should be enthusiastic, self-motivated and well-organised with good interpersonal skills. An ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload is essential as is a flexible approach.
