Salary: £28,452 to £32,004 per annum (pro-rata if part time) together with USS pension benefits.
This is a fixed term position to 31 March 2019 (with further funding available to 31 December 2020 subject to approval)
SPECIFIC (Sustainable Product Engineering Centre for Innovative Functional Industrial Coatings) is a National Innovation and Knowledge Centre led by Swansea University with corporate partners including BASF, Tata Steel Europe and NSG Pilkington. Working collaboratively with a significant number of leading universities such as Cardiff, Bath, Imperial College London and Oxford, SPECIFIC has significant capability and expertise across its team and facilities. With leading research activity into scaling functional coatings for the built environment, SPECIFIC engages with companies of all sizes.
The role of Business / Market Analyst is being created to conduct research and investigation which relates to opportunities arising from the technologies being developed through SPECIFIC activities. The role will be part of the Business Development Team within SPECIFIC, central to exploiting the opportunity for companies and influencers at all levels within organisations and government bodies to collaborate within the SPECIFIC network; and is critical in identifying inward investors; future trends and the potential to build strategic relationships.
This role involves working as part of the SPECIFIC team to deliver the BAP Vision. Reporting to the Research Commercialisation and Industrial Engagement Manager, the successful applicant will be working closely with the Management Team and colleagues within SPECIFIC’s research and innovation, demonstration and integration and business engagement teams.
The role will be based primarily in the BBIC, Baglan Energy Park, Port Talbot or at any other premises occupied by Swansea University.
