The new University of Nottingham Centre for Dairy Science Innovation (CDSI), part of the Agri-Tech National Centre for Dairy Research, has exciting opportunities for a Dairy Technician and an Assistant Dairy Technician. CDSI brings with it a substantial investment in dairy research at the University of Nottingham Farm, where existing facilities are being redeveloped and expanded to create a leading international centre for dairy research. Further details can be found here: https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/research/groups/cdsi/index.aspx
The Dairy Technician role is an opportunity for the right person to build on their existing dairy industry experience to complement our small, hard-working team of staff to provide high standards of health, safety and welfare for both cattle and employees, in an environment where both production and research and teaching objectives are important. The role requires high level stock management skills, competence in handling appropriate agricultural machinery and an ability to work with and sometimes lead a dedicated team of people. Flexibility, adaptability and excellent record keeping skills are also essential to the role.
In return, we offer excellent working conditions, competitive remuneration and pension packages, ongoing training and the chance to further develop the roles over time, as well as regular University holiday entitlements. There will also be opportunities to engage with some of the CDSI research and teaching activities associated with University Farm. Accommodation, close to CDSI, local villages and schools is available if required.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Jackie Humphreys, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
