We are looking for highly motivated candidates who have an excellent first degree and distinction level Masters degree performance in a related discipline to pursue PhD studies in any area of research expertise listed above. We are offering several full-time studentships to commence in October 2017 for up to 4 years. All studentships pay a generous living allowance and offer a fee waiver for three years, or in some cases four.

LUMS is part of the ESRC’s North West Social Sciences Doctoral Training Partnership (NWSSDTC) together with the universities of Liverpool, Manchester and Keele. Through this consortium, we offer ESRC-funded PhDs. Both Home and EU applicants are eligible to apply and for some pathways applications from overseas students will also be accepted.

We also offer LUMS studentships, which are open to students of any nationality.

Successful applicants will be expected to undertake some teaching duties as part of the studentship responsibilities.

All scholarships cover tuition fees, and include a maintenance allowance of around £14,000 pa.
