As an academic Economist with the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, you will provide the link between the Faculty at Milton Keynes and its students and Associate Lecturers (Tutors) across the UK.
You will have a key role in keeping the Open University in the forefront of supported distance higher education, particularly in designing and facilitating effective teaching of the Faculty’s modules, qualifications and programmes. You will also be responsible for the selection, induction, monitoring and staff development of part-time Associate Lecturers who teach modules related to Economics and also inter-disciplinary Level One modules. You will also be expected to contribute to the teaching and research of the Economics discipline.
You will hold as a minimum requirement a good Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Economics or a related discipline and ideally a Postgraduate qualification, research, publications or relevant practical experience.
You will either be based at Walton Hall, Milton Keynes or as a Designated Home Worker. During initial induction and training it will be necessary to travel frequently to both Milton Keynes and Bristol.
