Florence Nightingale Foundation Chair in Clinical Nursing Practice Research

The University of Hertfordshire School of Health and Social Work and the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust are delighted to invite applications for a new and innovative post: the Florence Nightingale Foundation Chair in Clinical Nursing Practice Research.

This new and exciting appointment is a collaboration between the University, the Trust and the Florence Nightingale Foundation.

This post is ambitious in its aims to produce a collaborative programme of clinically applied research that advances clinical practice and outstanding patient care improvement for nursing and allied professions, across acute and community settings. The post holder will lead development, advance and implement strategies for policies, practice and pathways drawing on the priority health needs of Hertfordshire as well as existing strengths, to develop integrated clinical research programmes in key areas.

The appointee will act as an ambassador for the Florence Nightingale Foundation and participate in activities, including membership of the Chairs’ network which includes post holders from across the United Kingdom, thus contributing to a common purpose of ensuring that the clinical practice standards and values set out by the Florence Nightingale Foundation are sustained and enhanced.

Successful applicants will be a Registered Nurse or Midwife (current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council is required) with an Internationally recognised and established track record of excellence in a field of health related research or research in other related areas compatible with the Trust’s clinical research priorities.

This role requires enhanced DBS clearance.
