Owing to a major expansion of, and capital investment in, the Manchester X-ray Imaging Facility we are advertising a position to join a large team of academics, technical staff and post-doctoral fellows.
The role will involve optimizing Ga+ and Xe+ FIB milling conditions to minimise artefacts, beam damage and residual stress. You also pursue strategies for fast and smart acquisition procedures for 3D EBSD/EDX analysis. Using the Facility’s new analytical capability, you will combine non-destructive micro Computer Tomography (µCT) and destructive (nano resolution) 3D electron microscopy. You will be working with an international network of collaborators.
This post is available from 1 January 2017 for a period of 24 months.
