Project Officer

Fixed term, 60% FTE, until 31 December 2018

You will work in the role of Project Officer on the European Commission Funded Action project (JUST/2015/RRAC/AG) Countering Islamophobia Through the Development of Best Practice. The project is managed and coordinated at the Centre for Ethnicity and Racism Studies, University of Leeds, by Professor Ian Law and involves partners from five EU member states.

You will work alongside the Project Coordinator, Professor Ian Law, to manage and coordinate the project. You will manage the development and monitoring of the overall project and the work streams and ensure that the project meets projected deliverables on time, within budget and in specified quality. You will also assist with the preparation of academic deliverables of the project. You will be responsible for the administration of the project including publication, dissemination and impact programme.

Educated to at least postgraduate level or equivalent, you will have previous experience of undertaking and managing sociology/social policy or related research, experience of working in multi-partner teams and working in an academic environment. You will also have excellent research, communication, time management and interpersonal skills as well as an ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience of working on or managing EU funded projects would be an advantage.

Attendance at meetings and events organised as part of the project is essential to this post and will require work outside of normal hours, overnight stays and travel within Europe.
