The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £34,056 - £36,923 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
We are seeking a postdoctoral research associate to work for 12 months in Professor Brown’s respiratory infection group based in UCL Respiratory at University College London. The post will investigate the effects of immunomodulation on adaptive immune responses to the pneumonia pathogen Streptococcus pneumoniae. The successful applicant will be responsible for designing and performing S. pneumoniae infection experiments in animal models and assessing immune responses using a range of established immunological techniques. There will also be scope for the successful applicant to be involved with additional ongoing projects within Professor Brown’s laboratory.
This post is funded for one year in the first instance.
The applicant needs to have been awarded a PhD and have some prior experience of research in the fields of bacterial pathogenesis, immunology, and / or vaccinology. It is essential they have a UK personal licence for animal experimentation and actual experience of murine models of either infection or assessment of vivo immunological responses. Bacteriology experience is not essential but would be an advantage.
