Applications are invited for the position of Policy Fellow in Entrepreneurship at Saïd Business School. The successful applicant will be expected to carry out research that is of interest to the Entrepreneurship Centre under the guidance Thomas Hellmann, Academic Director, Oxford University Entrepreneurship Centre based at the Entrepreneurship Centre in Oxford. Under direction from Professor Hellmann, the post holder will be a member of a research group and will have a key role in supporting the Oxford Entrepreneurship Policy Roundtable, a roundtable of academics, policy makers (from the UK, Europe and North America), and industry experts (such as entrepreneurs and investors) that discusses cutting edge-topics in entrepreneurship policy.
The successful candidate will represent the programme at external meetings/seminars, either with other members of the group or alone and undertake small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of the Oxford Entrepreneurship Policy Roundtable, interfacing with potential participants and helping the organisers to set the program and related activities. The Policy Fellow in Entrepreneurship will prepare working hypotheses and analyse qualitative and/or quantitative data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining theories as appropriate. Based on that adapt existing and develop new research methodologies, ideas, and materials, to deliver in the preliminary and final research reports.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant Master's degree or higher (examples include MBA, Masters in finance, economics, public policy, or related areas, same for PhDs/DPhils) and will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work on applied policy research agenda in the area of entrepreneurial finance. The post holder will also have the ability to manage applied research and associated activities, including ability to handle data, analyse information and contribute ideas.
