To support UWE, Bristol’s 2020 Strategy we are making a number of strategic ‘new blood’ appointments across the university to develop our capacity in key areas. These posts include a 50% research allocation for the first three years and will be expected to make a significant contribution to our research profile, income generation and external engagement activities.

Within the Faculty of Business and Law, we are looking to appoint an Associate Professor in Leadership and Change. The post holder will join the Department of Business and Management and will support the work of Bristol Leadership and Change Centre, one of the largest university-based leadership centres in the UK. The successful applicant will be expected to support our capacity for research bidding, knowledge exchange and publications in high-quality peer review outlets. They will also contribute towards our undergraduate, post-graduate and/or executive education offerings.

We would welcome applications from candidates with expertise in leadership, organisation studies, social psychology and/or related fields, with a demonstrable track record of research, business/community engagement and teaching. We would welcome applications in particular from those with an interest in one or more of the following:

  • Public sector leadership, transformation and change
  • Evaluation of leadership and organisation development
  • Complexity and systems change
  • Place-based leadership
  • Leadership and management learning
  • Cross-cultural leadership and leadership development
