Research Associate in Mathematics

University of Bristol - School of Mathematics

Applications are invited for a one-year Research Associate in the School of Mathematics and the University of Bristol, tenable from 1 August 2017 (or a date to be agreed). This is funded by the EPSRC grant “Optimal geometric structures for hyperbolic groups”, which considers connections between geometric group theory, analysis and the geometry of group actions. You should have or expect to hold shortly a PhD in Mathematics or equivalent, with a suitable background in geometric group theory and/or related areas. The School of Mathematics is one of the leading centres for research and teaching in mathematical sciences in the UK, and offers a stimulating and friendly environment with first-rate facilities. The School of Mathematics is a supporter of the LMS Good Practice Scheme aiming at advancing women's careers in mathematics:

The closing date for applications is 4:00pm on 06 January 2017. Applications received after this date may also be considered.
