Mathematics http://emps.exeter.ac.uk/mathematics/ is a vibrant and successful Department within the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences at the University of Exeter that was recently rated the 8th best place to study Mathematics in the Guardian newspaper. For several years there has been sustained investment in both academic staff and infrastructure to provide a catalyst for significant growth in both research activity and student experience.

To further strengthen our activities in Mathematics we are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer (Education and Research) with interests in the development of rigorous mathematical analysis that resonates and has potential to interact with current research in mathematics within the department. This includes areas such as: probability theory, numerical analysis, analytical number theory, dynamical systems and ergodic theory.
Applicants must be qualified to PhD level in mathematics or a closely related discipline and be able to demonstrate a strong potential for research leadership with a track record in refereed publications and proven success in significant grant capture. The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels on a range of Mathematics programmes.
