We are looking to appoint an innovative postdoctoral-level scientist with expertise in hepatitis B virology and interferon signalling to investigate the role of hypoxia in the viral lifecycle and evasion of host innate immune responses. You will join the research team headed by Professor Jane McKeating in the Nuffield Department of Medicine.
This post is funded by the Wellcome Trust and is fixed-term for 3 years, with the possibility of extension. The proposed start date for this post is 1 March 2017 with some flexibility.
Applicants will have a relevant PhD/DPhil, along with pre- and/or postdoctoral research experience with proven research skills in virology, innate immunity or hypoxia biology. You will have two or more first author research articles in high-calibre refereed journals. You will be able to provide evidence of scientific creativity, and demonstrate an ability to contribute to determining future directions for the research project. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as a part of an interactive group are also essential requirements
