The Metamaterial Research Centre (MRC) at the University of Birmingham has postdoctoral position available for a highly motivated candidate with strong background in disordered photonics. 

The successful applicant will carry out research on the effect of disorders on optical metamaterials and other photonic systems. The research topics include the effect of disorders on topological metamaterials, disordered optical microcavities and photonic crystals and disordered 2D metasurfaces for various applications including integrated photonic circuits, energy harvesting, photon density control, and lasers.

A candidate is expected to hold a doctorate degree in Physics.  The candidate is expected to have strong theoretical and experimental background in at least two of the following areas: disordered photonics, metamaterials, and photonic crystals. A strong publication record is highly preferred.
