Applications are invited for the post of Research Officer on a fixed term basis in the School of Chemistry. The post holder will work in Professor Paizs’ MS laboratory on research projects associated with the development of methodologies for the isolation, separation and MS based structural characterisation of natural products from biomaterials; metabolomics and proteomics applications and to contribute to system maintenance of instruments and computers in the laboratory.
The post is being funded through the provision of a grant from the Welsh European Funding Office (through the ERDF programme), with the specific objective of increasing the successful translation of research and innovation processes into new and improved commercial products, process and services, through technology transfer from HEI’s. (BEACON+ Biorefining Centre of Excellence for Wales). BEACON+ is a partnership between Aberystwyth, Bangor and Swansea Universities to support the biorefining industry across the Convergence Area of Wales.
The successful applicant will have a PhD (can be written up and close to completion) in Chemistry or a Chemistry-related subject.
The successful candidate will be expected to commence on 01/02/2017 or as soon as possible thereafter and the post is available until 31/01/2018.
