Working within a busy undergraduate laboratory in the Faculty of Science, the focus of the post will centre in the Schools of Chemistry and Pharmacy. The post holder will be part of a team of technicians and will be responsible for the preparation and clearing of chemicals and equipment used in the undergraduate practical teaching sessions and will help in activities to necessitate the smooth running of undergraduate sessions.
Candidates should have proven experience of working in a laboratory environment and must possess an understanding of laboratory safety issues and good laboratory practice.
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 A Level passes (or equivalent qualification) to include a Science subject; or one of the following in a relevant field: recognised apprenticeship, BTEC Certificate or Diploma, HNC or HND. In addition, candidates will need to be able to satisfy all essential criteria outlined in the person specification for this post.
This post is available from 3 January 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter on a full-time, indefinite basis.
