Research Assistant (0.8fte)

This is a part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed-term position, 01 February 2017 - 28 February 2018

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with proven research skills to work on a collaborative Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland funded research project on employer responses to dementia in the workplace in Scotland. You will be based in the Business School at Edinburgh Napier University, although you will also have the opportunity to collaborate closely with the members of the research team based at the University of the West of Scotland and Heriot Watt University.

Your main duties will be to conduct literature and database searches, prepare data collection tools, recruit research participants, undertake research interviews, manage an online survey, under supervision analyse quantitative and qualitative data, and organise and participate in meetings and dissemination workshops.

You must have:

  • A PhD in a social science topic (or recent submission of a PhD thesis) or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Experience of qualitative and/or quantitative methods within a relevant social science discipline.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team member skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Be willing to travel.
