Salary: £29,301 to £46,414 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
In its Strategic Plan for 2015-2020, the Faculty of Engineering has set challenging objectives for sustainability of research funding; equipment, facilities and environment; publications; impact; and PGR recruitment. Based in the Faculty of Engineering, this role supports academic staff in the development of research, and in particular with the development of research funding applications, with EPRSC and the Global Challenges Research Fund being a particular focus.
Applicants should be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) and have experience of working in a research development role. Candidates will have good knowledge of the UK Higher Education sector, in particular research development and research funding. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as high level skills in analysis, strategic thinking and project management.
The successful candidate will join the Faculty Research Office and be part of a core team supporting the development of excellent research and knowledge exchange activity. The role holder will actively engage and work closely with a large number of research groups across the Faculty and will also be expected to provide mentorship to other team members.
The post can be offered on a Level 4 Senior Research Development Officer or Level 5 Research Development Manager.
Level 4 Senior Research Development Officer
£29,301 to £38,183 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
Level 5 Research Development Manager.
£38,183 to £46,924 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
