Our job is to help people stop dying from blood cancer, improve patients’ quality of life and stop people getting a blood cancer in the first place. You will be successful in your role if you are as ambitious as we are about beating blood cancers.

Head of Research Funding

Your key accountabilities

  • Manage application and award funding processes and a portfolio of funded awards to agreed governance, policies and timeframes
  • Manage the research budget and the departmental business planning dashboard
  • Provide insight and evaluation to develop the research strategy and monitor its delivery
  • Contribute to the development of organisational strategy
  • Provide information and insight about the research we fund and its impact, to support our communication and fundraising goals
  • Build and maintain excellent professional relationships with applicants, grantees and committee members and other external organisations/individuals which influence our funding strategy
  • Represent Bloodwise externally with appropriate authority to speak and make decisions on behalf of the Charity within your delegated authority limits
  • Promote Bloodwise funding schemes, achieving high levels of awareness and understanding in the target community
  • Set professional skill and quality standards to enable delivery of outputs to appropriate time, quality and cost criteria
  • Build a highly motivated team establishing a culture of quality performance and continuous improvement
