We seek highly qualified candidates who can build and grow innovative, mission-led research programmes to make significant contributions in tackling real-world problems, including Global Challenges highlighted by Queen’s, by identifying and enabling new forms of interdisciplinary research and education. This recruitment is central to our ambitious expansion plans allowing us to deliver against Queen’s Vision2020 and beyond.
You will join the newly created Electronics and Computer Engineering Research Cluster, which represents a wide range of research activities, encompassing sensors, MEMs, data optimisation, multimedia processing and computer hardware acceleration. Our activities span from the creation of data through innovative sensor technologies, from embedded systems involved in capturing and processing this data right through to innovative research in performing data optimisation and technologies to accelerate its processing. We have an ethos of working with industry and an established record of technology transfer.
Your skills and experience will strengthen the core research areas of intelligent sensors, programmable hardware, data optimisation and big data acceleration. We also welcome applications from candidates wishing to explore interdisciplinary and application-driven research in areas such as bioinformatics, innovative media applications and physical sciences.
You will inspire students and facilitate motivational learning, supported by world-class teaching and research facilities, and will work with engineering and commercial teams to translate your research to real-world impact.
