Full Time Study Doctor required: Centre for Dementia Prevention
Located at the Bioquarter, New Royal Infirmary, the Centre for Dementia Prevention has recently opened and is looking to recruit a full time study Doctor (AMN2). This is an exciting opportunity to support the set-up and delivery of CHARIOT-PRO, a large commercially sponsored observational cohort study of Alzheimer’s-type dementia.
CHARIOT-PRO seeks to identify, recruit and longitudinally assess healthy volunteers at risk for Alzheimer’s Dementia. The post-holder will be required to support the multi-disciplinary study team and undertake a clinical role within the study.
The Centre for Dementia Prevention also hosts and leads on a range of studies dedicated to dementia prevention including The EU-funded European Prevention of Alzheimer’s Dementia project and the PREVENT Dementia Study. It is part of a family of centres and departments at the University of Edinburgh, which is one of the leading neuroscience centres in Europe. The successful candidate will primarily work on the CHARIOT-PRO study but will also have the opportunity to develop their career interests in clinical neuroscience research and work across a range of projects.
This post is full-time for 12-months in the first instance, with the possibility of extension for up to 4-years. Candidates must have a minimum MBChB or equivalent and full GMC registration. Previous experience with research of this type is desirable but not essential.
