Faculty of Medicine
Join one of the world’s top medical schools as Programme Assistant, supporting our medical students in their early years of training
Imperial College London’s Faculty of Medicine is one of the world’s top medical schools at one of the world’s most-respected universities. At the forefront of medical education, your work here will help create the next generation of doctors and scientists—benefiting patients and populations globally.
The Early Years team supports our medical students on the six-year MBBS course in their first two years of study, being responsible for administering the planning and delivery of all operational aspects of the undergraduate medical programme for these years and for supporting the Programme Manager in identifying, planning and implementing opportunities for improvement of existing administrative mechanisms, developing solutions and implementing approved changes.
As Programme Assistant, you provide administrative support to the team. You’ll help ensure that students and academics are well supported, providing high quality, timely information and responding to queries in a professional but approachable manner. You’ll also support integration across the MBBS programme, including educational initiatives and the development and review of the curriculum and assessments.
You must be educated to A Level or equivalent, have a high level of computer literacy, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The workload is varied and often subject to strict deadlines within the academic year. Whilst experience of working in higher education is welcome, we are more interested in your skills and attitudes.
You’ll be based in the Faculty Education Office, supporting academics and clinicians to deliver an outstanding medical and biosciences education. We coordinate the student journey from admission to graduation, providing first-line services to students, supporting strategy and policy development, financial management, communications, governance and quality.
