The School of English, Communication and Philosophy at Cardiff University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in the Language and Communication section of the School.
This is an opportunity to contribute to the full range of research and teaching activities of this dynamic unit.
The successful candidate will enhance the internationally recognised research performance of the Centre for Language and Communication Research within the School. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, Cardiff University was ranked 5th in the UK, with English Language and Literature achieving a Top 10 position. The successful applicant will have a growing national and international academic reputation, an excellent publication record, and the enthusiasm and drive to play a key role in sustaining the School’s reputation for excellent research outputs, community engagement and impactful research.
The new colleague will contribute to teaching provision across the subject’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with a particular focus on areas of language acquisition (first and/or second language) and/or psycholinguistics. An ability and willingness to teach in other areas of the BA and MA portfolios will also be advantageous. S/he will bring an engaging and innovative approach to module delivery and assessment, and, with a commitment to delivering excellent student experience, will contribute to the enhancement of distinctive provision at Cardiff.
The post holder will engage effectively with academic, professional and public institutions and groups to raise awareness of the School’s profile, cultivate strategic alliances and enhance the School’s ambition to be a creative and inclusive community renowned for its impact on policy, practice and public life.
This is a full-time, open-ended post (35 hours per week)
